Innovation and responsibility: How we are mindful of the environment
Being 99 percent air and just 1 percent material, AIRWORKS air cushion films are one of the most resource-friendly and lightweight solutions for protecting merchandise. Our films are also fully recyclable, and our nearly maintenance-free machines have no wear parts. But we strive for sustainability not only in our products, but our production as well, as we manufacture locally and work together with local suppliers. Materials & machines
CIRRUS machines
Thanks to our patented sealing process, our CIRRUS machines are extremely energy-efficient. Thanks to their high-quality materials and rugged construction, they are also extremely long lasting and therefore resource friendly. All the models of our company’s own CIRRUS series are based on our patented sealing process, which does not use knives or Teflon tape. As a result, the machines do not need the usual wear parts.
AIRWORKS air cushion films
Our air cushion films are lightweight in transport, use a minimum of material, are compact to store and 100 percent recyclable. In addition to our BasicLine, we offer our GreenLine with at least 30 percent recycled materials and our BioLine based on renewable resources. It is up to you how much you want to recycle.

Photovoltaic systems and other aspects
Back in 2009, we installed a large photovoltaic system on our roofs. With a peak rating of 0.25 megawatts, it provides the majority of our electricity. We use it to operate the heat pumps which supply all the heaters in our office and production spaces. We always keep an eye on current trends so we can implement even more alternative and renewable energy measures.
In-house manufacturing
We produce only in Germany. Because on-site manufacturing is the only way we can truly monitor the production process to ensure the quality and reliability of our products. At the same time, our regional production guarantees that Germany’s high environmental protection standards are complied with.

Regional purchasing
We purchase our raw materials exclusively from suppliers in our region. For very pragmatic reasons: We avoid unnecessary transport distances and to support smaller companies in our region. By focusing on our surrounding area, we ensure sustainable jobs in our neighbourhood.

As part of the energy transition, we’ve already been focusing on our own electro-mobility expansion for some time now. That’s why our company grounds now feature 16 charging options for electric vehicles – not only for our company vehicles, but for our customers as well.
